The one-week joined retreat for students and researchers synchronises two Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) for scholars and students respectively in the two fields of (a) sustainability and climate change research and (b) culture: diversities and identities research.

For the scholars, the ‘Expanding Scholarly Horizons’ retreat will foster interdisciplinary connections across Aurora Educational Hubs and universities, enabling researchers to collaborate on shared projects, hone communication skills for a broad audience, and present and discuss current research in front of an international, interdisciplinary audience. The focus will be on exchange and peer learning with staff, including experts in science communication, the sharing of knowledge and competences, and the reception of valuable feedback from students from the parallel BIP ‘Rising Voices: Emerging Scholars Forum’.

For the students the ‘Rising Voices: Emerging Scholars’ Forum’ retreat will hone research and presentation skills and enhance networking abilities. The retreat brings together bright minds from diverse disciplines, two Aurora Educational Hubs, and a range of Aurora universities to further develop problem-solving and teamwork competences, while also refining oral communication skills.
